We've Been in Your Shoes
Born from frustration, built with passion, and powered by students who refused to accept the status quo.
It Started with a Sleepless Night
Remember the anxiety? It was 2 AM, and like thousands of other students across Pakistan, we were frantically searching for accurate information about medical college admissions. We clicked through dozens of outdated websites, joined countless Facebook groups filled with conflicting advice, and called friends who were just as confused as we were.
That night, we made a promise to ourselves: No student should ever feel this lost again.
We weren't tech experts. We weren't backed by any organization. We were just students—frustrated, determined students who had experienced the same pain points you're facing right now. We knew what it felt like to:
✓ Search for merit lists and find only broken links
✓ Wonder if a college is even recognized anymore
✓ Miss application deadlines because information was hidden in PDFs
✓ Rely on rumors instead of facts
✓ Feel completely alone in the journey to become a doctor
So we decided to build something different. Something free. Something honest. Something made by students, for students.
That's how PMDC.org.pk was born—not in a corporate office, not with government funding, but in late-night coding sessions fueled by chai and the belief that information should be accessible to everyone.
The Problems We All Faced
These aren't theoretical problems—these are the real struggles we experienced firsthand. Every single one of them.
Information Scattered Everywhere
Merit lists on one site, admission dates on another, fee structures nowhere to be found. We spent hours—sometimes days—piecing together basic information that should take minutes to find.
Outdated Information
Finding a "helpful" website only to realize the data is from 2018. Missing deadlines because nobody updated the information. The frustration of not knowing what's current and what's obsolete.
Broken Links & Dead Ends
"Click here for merit list" → 404 Error. "Download admission form" → File not found. We've all been there, refreshing pages and hoping they'll magically work.
Hidden Costs & Unclear Fees
Tuition fees? Hostel charges? Security deposits? Nobody tells you the full picture until you're already committed. We wanted transparency from day one.
Conflicting Information
One source says merit is 85%, another says 88%, your friend heard 90%. Who do you trust? The anxiety of making decisions based on unreliable data was unbearable.
No Centralized Platform
Having to check 15 different websites, 10 Facebook groups, and call 5 seniors just to get basic information. We knew there had to be a single, reliable source.
Building It Wasn't Easy
Creating PMDC.org.pk came with its own set of challenges. But every obstacle made us more determined to succeed—for ourselves and for every student who would come after us.
Gathering Accurate Data from Hundreds of Sources
We manually collected information from over 100 medical colleges, verified merit lists from multiple years, cross-referenced admission policies, and contacted institutions directly. It took months, but we knew accuracy was non-negotiable.
Building a Platform with Zero Budget
No investors. No grants. No corporate sponsorships. Just students learning to code, designing in free tools, and hosting on budget servers. Every line of code was written with borrowed laptop batteries and unlimited determination.
Keeping Information Updated (The Never-Ending Battle)
Colleges change policies. Merit lists fluctuate. Admission dates shift. Keeping everything current while juggling our own studies was—and still is—our biggest challenge. We're not perfect, but we're trying our best.
Fighting Misinformation & Rumors
Social media is flooded with "confirmed" information that turns out to be completely false. We committed to verifying everything, citing sources, and being transparent when we're uncertain. Trust is earned, not given.
Making It Accessible to Everyone
Students in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, small villages—everyone deserves equal access. We optimized for slow internet connections, mobile devices, and users with varying technical skills. Education information should never be a privilege.
Despite these challenges, we pushed forward. Why? Because we remembered those sleepless nights, that anxiety, that frustration. We built PMDC.org.pk so no student would have to go through what we did.
We Need Your Help
Here's the truth: We can't do this alone. PMDC.org.pk is a community effort, and you're a vital part of that community. We're not a perfect, all-knowing platform—we're students helping students.
This platform belongs to all of us. Every correction you submit, every piece of verified data you share, every review you leave—it all makes PMDC.org.pk better for the next student searching for answers at 2 AM.
